Dell OptiPlex GX400 Memory Upgrade
Hi, my dad just told me today that he wants to upgrade his memory at work to get 2 GB of RDRam. I was having a hard time finding any ram that had 512 MB because there are only 4 slots for memory and the sticks have to match each other. My dad said he found some memory from dell but it was about $270 for each 512 MB stick, and newegg only has a couple and their a little cheaper, at about $205 per stick. Does anyone know where's a good place to find this type of memory? PNY said that their 512 MB sticks were discontinued. Here's a link to the Dell manual, there's a memory section a little ways down.
http://support.dell.com/support/edoc...h3.htm#1111549 And if this matters he has a 1.5 GHz P4 processor. Thanks |

He probably doesn't need 2 gigs of ram unless he is running a CAD or 3D program. One gig should be good for everyday stuff. Newegg is your best bet, rdram is not very common and is pricy.
