2 of 4 SATA drives not showing up.
I just built my first computer today, but two of the four SATA hard drives are not showing up. My motherboard has 4 spaces on it labeled SATA1, SATA2, SATA3 and SATA4. I can only see the drives on SATA1 and SATA2.
Any ideas on what is wrong? |

It looks like you have 2 SATA controllers on that board, an nForce controller and a Promise controller. Are the SATA drivers installed for both controllers?

This photo is a little misleading, the SATA connections are not where it says on the board, there are two right next to the processor, and two more at the bottom of the PCI slots. You can't really see any of them in the photo. I didn't need to install any driver for the first 2 to show up, and no sata driver came with the board.

I didn't even look at the picture, I was going by the specs. The nForce controller may be native, which is why you didn't need drivers. You may have to install the drivers for the promise controller. Look for them on the motherboard installation CD or on the manufacturer's website.
http://www.soltek.de/soltek/download...AN2E-GR#manual The first download under drivers should do it. |
