do i need driver to use sata drive(non-raid) with ASUS P5AD2 PREMIUM?

Hi, I've read a few posts that said you may need drivers to use a sata drive(non-raid) when installing windows xp. Anyone have this experience with the asus p5ad2 premium? (using a WD RAPTOR 74 gig hard drive). Thanks for the "heads up". I'm sure I'll find out when I go to install windows xp. I'll probably browse the MB cd when I get home from work to look for such a utility. Thanks!

Hello,

depends on your motherboard. Some motherboards you need to load drivers for SATA when you install Windows, and some are native support, so you dont need to do anything.

Your motherboard manual should tell you wheather it is native or not. HTH
