Are DVD System Requirements Based On Software?
I just got an 8 speed DVD burner that came with Nero and I just noticed that the system requirements are an 800mhz processor with 256mbs of ram. I only have a 600mhz processor with 228mbs of ram. Is it possible to get some other dvd burning software that might have lower system requirements?

I belive that to be able to burn a dvd at that speed, your system must be able to supply the data to the burner at that speed, there for the cpu must be able to work that fast, it has nothing to do with the software.

Yes, it's just the software. The CPU can't be the reason because DMA is used, which is used to take stress off the CPU. As long as the hard drive and the IDE can provide the necessary speed, it'll be fine.
