DVD decoder software
Hmmm, does anyone know any good *free* DVD decoder software. My friend just bought a DVD-Rom for his computer, and is having a little bit of trouble with it. I downloaded him one, and it worked fine, but when he restarted his computer, it seemed to disappear or something, because now it doesn't work. I'm just trying to avoid having to drive all the way over to his house just to find and download some software. He's a little non-computer literate. I'm still try to get him off his crazy lingo, I'm tired of hearing how much he loves his new Power Source...

There really isn't any FREE DVD software, unless you have the right codecs installed and use Windows Media Player. Quite a few DVD drives, DVD burners, motherboards, and video cards come with one though - didn't his?

Well, there is something called a DivX player which I think is free. I don't know if that is the same thing you are looking for but it might be.
