Cool IDE Drive Cable Slave / Master attachments

This is my 2nd build. I have a cable that specifies the slave attachment. Does this really matter. It creates a messy fit and would be easier and neater if I was able to attach the Slave connection to the Master hard drive. What I have works and the drive is formatting as I type but the airflow will be restricted when all is closed up.

When using the 80 wire cable, ALWAYS set both drives to cable select and the master drive MUST be on the end of the cable and the slave MUST be on the middle connection.

Thanks, I was afraid of that. That is the way it is setup. What is the name of those cables that look more like a wire than a flat ribbon? And any guess on cost?
