quick format & normal format
can anybody tell me the differences between normal format and qiuck format, because now i need to format my hdd. any recommendation? thank for reply..

Quick format just places a new FAT (file allocation table) that shows all clusters are free (except the ones marked bad , though). All the original data in the data area is still there and will just be overwritten when you copy new files.
For an already formatted partition, Quick format is best and the fastest option if you are sure no bad sectors have crept in since the previous format. Normal format aslo known as high level formatting clears all the data including the data structures.....and all the information is lost and cannot be retrieved in some cases. |

If that hard drive is brand new and blank, use the normal format option.
