I plan to get WD RAID Edition EIDE 250 GB Hard Drives ( WD2500SB ) and make it as my primary drive in my desktop. There's important msg from WD site said that this drive is mainly for enterprise server usage and not recommended for desktop pc. But, there's some other ppl out there using it looks like no problem at all. I still confused whether wanna get the SB or JB models.
WD2500SB Here's the comparison chart for other competitor drive on the WD2500SB model: Chart 1 Chart 2 Quote:

There is nothing there that shows a specific reason and troubles that have occurred if you use this on a desktop.
You would be partitioning it first and ensuring to put all your programs on one part of the disk, etc, etc, follow correct and perfect setup. You know? THE STANDARD. Ezestuff Life is just a ball of worms....................... Yuck!

I've built 2 servers with those drives - each one with 8 of them on an Adaptec 8 port SATA RAID card. Very nice drives - the suckers are heavy like SCSI drives.
