USB 2.0 question

Hey all,

I recently obtained for myself an iPod. My computer is a few years old, and was stocked (by yours truly) with the latest motherboard, boasting a streamline USB 1.1 port. My iPod however, is what the pro's like to call a Hi-speed device. So, I set out to buy myself a USB 2.0 pci card. I got it, and all was well in my eyes. When I arrived home to install it, I discovered that the the iPod was not being recognized by iTunes. I had the iPod installed previously on the usb 1.1, so I don't know if that makes a difference. But I tried to configure it on 2.0 and the program isn't recognizing it. So I investigated windows device manager and three out of the four device controllers, although installed properly, couldn't "start." So, I did what the trouble shooting wizard told me to do, and reinstalled the device several times. No dice. I presume this is the problem, but I cannot for the life of me figure what is going on. I believe that the USB 2.0 drivers are in the WinXP Service Pack 1, but it's not making a difference as far as I can see. If anyone could give me some advice, I would greatly appreciate it. My iPod is beginning to gather dust

BTW, the pci card is a USB 2.0 card by TechGear (www.mytechgear.com)

Thanks!!

Try SP2.
Try the card in a different PCI slot.
Try the card in a different computer.
Try removing anything asociated with the card and with iPod and iTunes.
Check the documentation for iTunes and see if there is an issue with add-in cards.

No, USB 2.0 drivers are available in SP1 for WinXP.
