memory errors while playing HL2

hey everyone, it's been awhile since I've posted here. anyway I keep getting an error while playing Half-life 2 saying:

The instruction at "0x241f7c37" referenced memory at "0x0129f5c0". The memory could not be read.

at first I thought my timings were too tight, so I loosened them from 2-2-2-6 to 3-3-3-8, but I still get the errors. I get them every 15-30 mins and it closes HL2. do I have a bad stick of RAM?

ok I ran memtest86 for 8 and a half hours last night and didn't get any errors, so now I don't know what's goin on. it's the same error every time.

You're not the only one with this problem, it looks fairly common with this game. Just look at what a Google Search turns up. I still haven't seen what causes it though.

Edit - One guy here said he found a fix that said to move your RAM to a different slot, he tried it and it worked. Hopefully it will work for you too.
