Can`t find hard drive.
I am adding an back up external hard drive and I can`t find the drive to format. I checked in ms-dos prompt and it only shows the original drive not the back up. I checked under systems>hard drives and it`s not there either. How do I find this so that I can format it and use it? os system is me. Thanks

Hi h1024o,
Welcome to PC Mechanic !! ![]() Is this a store boought external, or one you made yourself? If it's store bought, it should be "plug-n-play." If it's one you making, it's real easy to put the drive into the computer first to format it, then put it into the enclosure. |

It`s one I made myself. I didn`t want to put one in internally and break the seal for warranty purposes. Thanks
