My DVD+RW Drive isn't working right

Problem: When trying to burn DVD's, more specifically "writing" the iso image on the dvd, it will run for about 2% and then literally freeze up. The bar wont move, the cache bar won't move either. Task manager says the program is still running, not "not responding". It is very weird.

It reads DVD's fine, I watch DVD's find.... I don't know why It keeps doing this. I don't want to keep ruining DVD discs. The discs are DVD+R, for my Khypermedia DVD+RW Drive (8x). Could I please have some help! I have burned a data dvd before by dragging files and such..... But even then, one of the discs messed up, I used 3 instead of the 2 i should of used.

Help would be awesome! Thanks!

P.S: My discs are very good. Top of the line 8x DVD+R Verbatim.

What program are you using to do the burns? I've not heard of that brand burner, but possibly you could check their website out for a firmware update on the drive. Those can allow the drive to burn certain media better.

Verbatim may be top of the line, but that doesn't mean that the drive likes them. Try different brands of media. Make sure DMA is enabled on your IDE controllers. Back off the overclock to stock speeds. Update your Nero. As said, look for a firmware update.
