Question Acrylic Cases

im interested in buying an acrylic case for my new system im building. i was just wondering how reliable those types of cases are. are they sturdy enough if they come pre-assembled? and if it comes with 5 fans included with the case i ordered, would it keep the new motherboard im getting (abit fata1ity) cool enough? id also be getting the asus star ice cpu heatsink/fan with the motherboard. i just wanted to know the pros and cons for having one. i know they look crazy espeically if they have lots of accessories like leds and cold cathodes, but im afraid that it might melt or something from the psu, gpu, etc. so could someone or many people just give me the lowdown on why i should or shouldnt buy an acrylic case (please)? by the way, if i dont get an acrylic case, id be getting a green modified chenming 601 with top and side windows w/4 fans included (thats my second choice). both of which would probobly be ordered from frozencpu.com.

this is the one im considering to buy:

and this is my second choice if the acrylics dont go over well:
http://www.frozencpu.com/cas-44.html

thankyou so much for your help.
(by the way, this is my first post)

I always wanted to try out an acrylic case but instead got one with an acrylic window. The window looks great but I went out and bought an antistatic cloth for it because it attracts dust. I wipe it down about every 3 days and it looks brand new. Only thing I don't like about acrylic is that the one I have here scratches easily, but I am sure you can handel it better than me. I accidentaly dropped a screwdriver on it, hit the very end on the inside, so you can't even see it but oh well. Other than my experiences I like the case. That would look awsome in a dark room with some LED fans and stuff...oh well, don't go with my advice though, wait for someone else to give some...

There arent too many pros exept if done right they look cool, besides that they dont transfer heat as good and are prone to scratches. They dont come assembled.

Really its up to you, you need to go alot of wire routing and sleeving for it to look nice, since you have no place to hide wires.

Also you dont have to worry they wont melt and are sturdy cases.

I've heard they're heavy, hot, get scratched instantly, not as easy to mod, and generally aren't worth it.

thanks for the pros and cons guys . now that ive taken all this into consideration im probobly just gonna get my second choice which was a green modified chenming 601 with 2 windows (top and side) and 4 case fans on it. i think its better because i dont like dust, i want my system to be as cool as possible, and i really dont want scratches all over my case to begin with. besides, i have 2 windows on this one so theres plenty of options i have to make the case look crazy. by the way you can comment on my new first choice case if you want.

new case im getting:
http://www.frozencpu.com/cas-44.html
im gonna get it with the stock fan grills at first and not get the keyboard/mouse thing that is optional with it just to cut down on the cost of it ($140 originally w/everything).

thanks again for all your help ,

~brad
