CPU temp 44 degrees to 57.5???

Okay, my system temp is 40 degrees, which is okay with me, but my CPU temp is 57.5!! I recently upgraded my psu from 350W to 480W, and upgraded my graph card from geforce 5200 to geforce 6800 oc. I know that I need to add some cooling immediately to my machine...but if anyone knows what might be the cause of this or what the first step should be, let me know.

TIA

-Also my pwm is at 50 degrees? and I know that was lower before.

Check the heatsink and fan to ensure that you did not loosen them whils installing your new components. Next ensure that you HSF is running.

How many case fans do you have in there?

How are the case fans set up? How many intakes and where? How many exhausts and where?

Are your cables and wires tucked neatly away from the CPU heatsink?

Sup Cricket + Carlmccut,

I have one 120mm fan on the back plane inside my pc, and some vents in the front underneath my optical drives. Although I have both my hard drives mounted in front of the outtake, I'm not sure if that is affecting temp. I think my power cables are kind of cluttered over the cpu fan, I will try to group them up with some zip ties or somethin.

It is weird because I just checked my temps today and they are down to around the 40's, I am not sure why the huge flux in temp, but I think after I leave it on for a while it begins to heat up more over time. Also I will open her up and see I did losen my heatsink or fan..

Thanks,

-I will let you know what I find.
