totally new to OCing

Hello, im running a intel p4 3.0E Ghz processor. Its running stable at 45degrees Celcius, and as i read reviews i read that people have overclocked this to 3.9 ghz. I have a feature in my m0b0 that allows for safe overclocking. What can i do to take full advantage of my processor?

Have you read the P4 overclocking guide? If your RAM is PC3200 Value RAM, you're going to want to upgrade. Value RAM doesn't overclock very well. Also, you're going to need some good cooling for that 3.0E.

I wouldn't overclock an Asrock. This is a PC Chips-built board, if you want to overclock, stick with the top tier manufacturers such as Asus and Abit.

You need ram faster than PC3200 to overclock because PC3200 runs at the same speed as your board at stock speeds. Increase the FSB, and you have 2 choices - overclock the ram, or run it slower than the FSB, which will negate the benefits of overclocking. Value ram does not overclock well. The people getting 3.9 GHz out of that processor are using high performance ram and high performance motherboards, you have neither one of these.
