no array is defined
hi all, ok whenever i start up my computer it says scanning ide drives then it says no array is defined and gives me the option of pressing crtl+f to begin setup or esc to continue booting. i have an ecs p4vxad motherboard. and when i press crtl+f is says no disk is found, press any key to continue

Are you using/trying to set up a raid array? If not then all you have to do is plug you hard drive into primary master and go into the bios and disable the raid controller. What happens if you press Esc?

no iam not trying to set up a disk array because i dont know what that is exactly and if i press esc it will just boot up windows like normal. it just annoys me becuase it always does the scanning ide before it starts up windows and it takes up booting time. how would i disable the raid controller in my motherboard thats what i dont know what to do

Look in your bios settings. Look for anything that says raid, promise or fast track.
The text may still appear, but it shouldnt be causing your machine to boot significantly slower anyway if your clearing it with esc or enter. Text doesnt suck up anything. Even the GUI of the windows loading screen doesnt decrease boot time and thats animated graphics. |
