Ipod LCD covered under warranty?

I have some dead pixel issues with my ipod lcd. I have no clue how it happened. I had the ipod in a case in my pocket all night and the next morning i found the pixels messed up. The damage really isn't all that bad, it looks worse off then when its on. and its in a place where there isn't much info displayed. Despite all that it is annoying considering i don't know how it got there. So in short i was trying to figure out if i could get this fixed under warranty. On apple's site it says if its an accident its not covered. But i don't know how it happened so i'm not calling it an accident yet. I didn't feel like jumping through all hoops of customer suppourt so i though i'd see what you guys though. My ipod was bought sometime just before christmas and is still under original warranty.

If it does not look physically damaged then how are Apple to know if it was accidental damage or not?

Send it back!

I'm thinking about it, does anyone have any experience with sending one in? If its a hassle i won't mess with it because like i said its not a huge deal it just bugs me. If its relatively painless though i'll go ahead and sent it back.

Did you buy it from a store or online?

If you bought it from a store then getting it replaced should be really easy.

No I accedentally got some water in my ipod and sent it back and they sent me a new one. Just go and create a service request on apple.com and they send you a box for the ipod. Send it back to them then they send you the new one. Pretty simple and painless.
