Aspire X-Navigator Case Fan Air Flow Direction Question.
Anyone using the Aspire X-Navigator case?
With the factory setup, the large side window fan is an exhaust and the two smaller back fans are intakes. The problem is that the two smaller fans is located just below the PS exhaust fan and it does not make sense to suck the hot air back in the case. So I just reversed the two smaller fans to be exhaust fans and reversed the clear window fan to be intake. It sounded good. Now here is the problem. With the new setup, when I turn up the fan speed, I can see that the CPU fan slowing down a little due to the changed airflow. It is diffiult to test which variation gives me the best airflow. I am asking other Aspire X-Navigator users here to see if you are happy with the original fan direction of air flow and if you have made any changes. Thanks, CC |

Just watch the CPU and system temps while you play around with the fans. Whichever directions the fans are in that give you the lowest temps is the best setup for your particular computer.

I'm using an Aspire X-Gear which is somewhat similar with the X-Navigator but I seem to have no problem having the fan blow into the processor - yes, it does mess with the processor HSF speed but better that then air blowing out that way that would be fighting against the fan.
