Laptop Battery Replacement

I have a Gateway Solo 9300 laptop and the BIOS is passworded. I understand that removing the CMOS battery from the motherboard will reset BIOS. I am unable to ge to motherboard. Can anyone help?

I cant help you with another way to reset the CMOS, but I might be able to help you get to the motherboard. Could you tell me why you can't get to the motherboard or is it that you asking a question that should be on (removed by moderator).

You'll probably have totally dismantle that laptop to get access to the motherboard.

Have you tried going to the Gateway website to see if you could get a service manual?

Sphegdave, I removed your link. Forum Rules prohibit discussion of that type of subject matter.

tech2d, breaking passwords can not be discussed here but I'll leave the thread open as long as the subject remains "how to access the cmos battery". I think in the long run, you'd be better off contacting Gateway support for an answer, either on their site or by phone.
