Speed strip
Hi all,
Has anyone ever used one of these??? ive got a spare xp 2200+ that i want to try it on !! just wondered if anyone has come across them before ??

speed strip?? never heard that term before.... care to fill me in?
EDIT: nevermind, i looked it up and have seen people talk about it but it wasn't called "Speed Strip".

its a strip that is put on AMD chips to unlock the multiplier. actually a very good idea!! |

doesnt seem to be very widely known , think ill get one though. i can only find one retailer that sells it in the uk.

These don't work on cpu's after week 42 on the date code... those are hard locked....
Just look at the cpu date code if it's 0442 or before it's already unlocked.... after that you are pretty much out of luck...

Ive ordered one , which ill try on my xp 2200. Then if it works ill try it on my xp 2800.
My 2200 is 2 years old , so that should be ok to unlock , all the options are greyed out on the bios , so ill know straight away. |
