Laptop crashes on battery power

Compaq presario 2105 running XP home SP2 Dlink wireless g DWL-G630.

When running on battery power and I open an application that connects, IE or outlook the laptop freezes. With AC power it runs fine. The battery is fully charged (shows 2 hours left).

It has to have something to do with the PCMCIA card or slot, because it works fine, hard wired to router.

???????

If your sure that it is the PCMCIA card or the slot, I would try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers for each.

Check your bios configuration for AC vs. battery power and see what differences are there if any.

Well, I tried reinstalling PCMCIA, changing to power save "maximum" on the card and also tramsmit power to lowest. Still crashes, but not immediately, I did load a couple of pages.
I was not able to find any settings in the BIOS menu that pertained to power (AC or battery).
I had the MB replaced a while back and the company put in a HP board so it's been a little difficult finding what drivers I need and BIOS version etc, because it doesn't match the OEM.
I did find another post on another forum (DSLreports board) where someone was having the same problem with the same MB so I have a feeling I'm outta luck .
