Ram Setting Question

When using DDR 2100 ram on a MOB with a cpu FSB of 333, do you set the BIOS setting to " auto " or " spd ".?

You shouldn't be running ddr2100 with a 333 cpu! ddr2100 is 266 ram and the cpu won't run to it's full potential as the ram will be holding it back...(bottleneck)

If thats what you have I would run the ram at 5:4 divider to slow down the setting or run the ram at 266speed.... It may not like it if you ran it at 333

If you do have a 333fsb cpu and ddr 2100 (266) you can try running the ram at 333 but you'll want to loosen the timings if you can (if you have that option) I'd start at 3-4-4-8 and work backwards from there but, would be easier to get the right ram....

Personally, I'd just set it at auto and forget about it.

I am not trying to OC the 266 ram. Until I pick up some more pc2700 I want to use the slower ram temporarily. I know it will reduce the efficiency of the cpu, but I don't know if I should use the setting " auto " or " SPD ". Thanks

Obviously (as stated above) the RAM will cause bottle necking. It is possible (as mentioned above) to OC the RAM, but it would be for very negligable perfornamce. Save yourself a headache and just set it on auto, that will use the RAM to it's fullest. Then throw some PC2700 in there when you have some spare cash.
