Difference between INTEL and AMD chips?

I have already searched for a little while only finding one piece of information regarding the actual technical differences between the pipelines and the speeds. I was wondering if anyone knows the real difference with the pipelines and how more is bad and less is better etc...

Thanks,

Brassman

Edit: I dont care which is better for XXXX system, thats not my question at all.

Well, all I can tell you is that the lesser pipeline stages a processor has, the more instructions per clock cycle it can achieve.

Read more in Aces Hardware or in Ars Technica.

You'll find ALL the valuable info you need to distinct one processor from the other.

Good luck.
