Thermal Grease?
Im in the middle of building my first computer and on the processor installation the step before you apply the heatsink it says to apply thermal grease on the processor. There is already thermal material on my heatsink so do I still need grease or is that what they mean?
Also another quick question: Is it fine if I start my computer up with the hardrive im using now with windows already installed or do I need to reformat it? |

If there is a thermal pad on the heat sink.. then no.. you don't need to apply thermal grease.
What OS is on your current drive?

Don't start the new hard drive.. get out your XP CD, boot from the CD, select install, then select repair install. This will properly update all of your drivers.
