Erasor head mouse not working

I am working on a Toshiba Satellite Pro 425CDT Laptop and I can't seem to get the mouse to work. This computer has W/98 1st edition on it. In the device manager the toshiba accupoint mouse is flagged, which isn't good i know that. A serial mouse will work just fine but if i can get the erasor mouse to work i'd prefer to use that instead so if anybody out there has any answers i'd appreciate the help. thanks! This computer also has no sound but in the device manager nothings flagged. On boot up you hear one beep so i think the speaker works.
