Hi All,
I have been pulling out what little hair I have left. My Compaq Presario absolutely refuses to recognize the bootable bios on this Promise FastTrack TX2200 RAID card. 1.5 year old, top-of-the-line Presario. Windows XP Pro sees the card and it is working fine in JBOD fashion as a SATA controller but the bootable bios needs to POST in order to enter the RAID config and set it up. Have never seen it in the 4 days I have been fighting with it. I have changed the bios so I can see all of the POST info. I have tried everything I can think of: The HP CMOS/bios is kind of limited and does not offer a lot of options. There is an add-in card area for booting but the card does not show up here. Promise seems to think it is a conflict with other cards. I have removed every PCI card in the system and reverted to on-board sound and on-board video. No change. I even tried to buy an enlarged bios for my board but the hp bios is write protected. AAARRRGGGHHH!! I initially moved PCI cards around in the slots until I had the RAID card on its own IRQ. No help. Promise says it is fully PnP and can share an IRQ. Anyone have any other ideas? Many Thx Dave |
