Ethernet Controller problem

New problem now...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I tested and reassembled my computer in the case. It is working now. I think it was the psu. Now I have another problem.
The computer was working fine, getting online ok and playing games with no problem...suddenly last night when it logged onto Windows, it gave me a message:
Found new hardware. Ethernet controller. Asked for driver. Used the automatic driver install. (Windows XP Pro by-the-way) Couldn't find one. I can't get online to find a driver either.
I checked in the Network Connection, found a network adapter there, 1394 something or other. I'm using cable modem. Status on the network connection was connected at 400 mbs.
I've tried disabling the ethernet controller that had a "!" on it, didn't work. Power cycled the cable modem, didn't work. What else should I be trying?

Resolved Thanks

Yep, it was a bad driver. XP was just assigning some other driver to it so I thought it was correct.
Using PCI NIC much better than integrated NIC. No more lagging in my games! YAY
