smokin Ghetto wate cooling, i am doin it!!

Hi,

i saw this post http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=111895 and thought it was really cool and decided to try it out, i actually began working on the project. I got a used water pump i found in my closet, a box of Altoids mints as a water block. I found that the altoid box wouldnt cool the processor enough so, i got this old pentium I heatsink, i cut a square shape to fit in my PI heatsink, i just got a hot glue gun and plastic sticks for 2 bux from the dollar store to seal off any openings to prevent leaks, my resevoir is a plastic box of salami, i am working on it right now and will post the pics asap. Oh btw my victum is going to be a PII 350 stock speeds, temps are 20C idle and 27C under full load. so i will try the system out and see if there is any gona be any improvement. my budget is 10 bux btw.

G-Dog,
I am in the tile business and we are constantley trying to avoid water damage in showers. They have come up with a new sealant called "Butyl Rubber" its in a tube just like caulking but you cant get it at a Home Depot or anything like that, you need to go to a local tile distributer and buy a tube. the stuff never dries and always remains "stickey" so it wont crack and let water thru over time. I dont know how it will work with heat, but I dont think it will get too hot. if it does then your pc is probably already fried LOL. Silicone caluking will over time 'dry' and begin to let water in.

Hope it works.

If you cant find it, let me know and i will look at the tube and see if there is a web site on it and post it for ya, I dont have one here and the tube is at my shop. If they dont have a site i can at least get you then name of the manufacturer.
