weird, bios see's drive but can't access it in windows xp
installed a slave WD 80G 7200 drive, bios see's it and everything is set to auto recognise in bios.
Clicking my computer in XP prof...it doesn't show up. Running a P4 here whats the deal? thanks in advance |

Is it partitioned and formatted? If not that is why it doesn't show up. To format it you right click on My Computer->Manage then select Disk Management on the left hand side. Here you should see the new drive and you can format it and assign it a drive letter, making it appear under My Computer. Warning: formatting will erase any data on the drive.
If it already has data on it then it is a different problem. |
