needed an exhaust fan...

though the 120mm on the rear of the cause exhausts some of the hot CPU air, i decided this would be better since it will help with the graphics card too and be less restrictive. Took me about an hour, just need a dremel. I always cover up the edges of the hole after sanding with a 1/8" audio cable split along the length with the internals removed...

Looks like a neat and pro job, inflames988 -- For edging, I sometimes use vacuum tubing from the auto store; works pretty good. I'll try that wire trick one day.

yeah i think the stuff from the auto store would probably work better - its hard to slice a long length of round wire down the middle and sometimes gets a bit messy, so i might check out the trim stuff they sell for car doors and fenders, or vacuum tubing like you said cause that might work better. no matter how much dremel time i put in on the thing i can never get it to look 100% smooth so covering it usually does the trick and looks pretty good.

Never thought of using that door trim you mention. Good idea! It's pre-slit and is flat so everything you do isn't 100% rounded. I like it. (plus, it's cheap... not as cheap as vacuum line, but still pretty cheap.)

and here's the inside. the wiring is bad, but not as bad as it could be. 4 SATA hard drives, 1 IDE hard drive, 2 DVD+-RW drives, and a bunch of wiring for my two E-SATA connectors on back, all crammed into an Antec Super Lanboy mid tower...so its not too bad.

the best thing for cutting out fan blowholes is a hole saw; just get the right size and use a reg power drill. Those things last forever and they give you perfect holes every time. Just mark out where the center of the hole is going to be, drill a pilot hole there, then use the hole saw. Works every time - just be sure to have the piece your working on secured to your workspace. heres a link to show you guys what they look like:
http://www.jarmetals.com/images/2_3-8holeSaw.jpg

you can find these at your local hardware store and theyre a little over 10 dollars or so

here are some pics of a case i bought....

This is an Raidmax Ice Cube case from newegg. This case is very solid and very thick....as you can see from the photos it's well constructed and the bay drive brackets are heavy die-cast aluminum....

this thing is a tank...I modded 2-92mm fans in the floor of the case to blow cool air up the to hard drives....I also plan to have the fire design water jetted into the side panels and then put window glass in...

That's an impressive setup. Are you running your new Radeon 4850 with stock cooler? If so, what are your temps?

Built a new system finally. I used my old Areo Cool Engine ll case. Wanted to get the HAF case but was out of my budget so I compromised. I did a red black theme with my old case. Blue was getting a bit old. I think it looks great. Also added some LEDs that glow behind the doors when their closed. Moved the clear side inside of the panel for a cleaner look. Don't know why areo cool had it on the outside?. I still need to paint the back panel and the top underneath. Also waiting on my sata extention to move my 1TB down from the 5.25 bay area. Let me know what you think.

As for the pictures I took it to my work where we have a photo booth

Here she is

That really is a great case!

I didn't built it for myself, but wanted to built for sale.
It started out as walked to the computer store one day, few years ago and saw a custom built gaming PC for $2,000. It was AMD system with 4GB RAM and skeleton case with no lights...

I thought I could do better and cheaper, and I did.
I built Intel system with D865PERL, 4GB RAM DDR400, 3.0 Ghz hyperthreading processor and best Radeon videocard. Also had firewire and gizmoz lights...
Asked $1,000 + cost of the OS or provide your own.
A lot of people looked at it, but nobody ever bought it. I managed to sell just a videocard off of it and that's how I still got stuck with it.

I remember that case from back in the day. I don't believe it's manufactured any more, so I can't find an exact match. Here were some similar ones:

Newegg.com - Broadway Com Corp 712-4HLW-SS Silver Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 450W Power Supply

Newegg.com - APEVIA X-DISCOVERY-AL Silver Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
