Ya thats my old.... Geforce 7800 GTX 512 MB. Im gonna wait for the next big dx10 card and get two of them in sli. Finally.. I dont know how they would fit anywhere in there though i gotta arrange more stuff. The inside of my case changed a lot since i took those pictures i can take new ones. Then maybe if i got any left over money i can max the rig with the most powerful cpu it can handle. The athlon FX 60. Once i hit 18 im off for my second build.

I just finished building my new computer about 2 weeks ago. Haven't done any modding to it yet. But here's some pictures. I have one picture where it's next to my old computer that I put the window into.

Did you get a chance to get your wiring cleaned up?

Yea, I always tell myself I'm gonna clean up my wiring, but I'm really good at procrastinating. Will either do it if I get snowed in tomorrow, or over Christmas break time. That case is great for cleaning wiring too, there's lots of room between the other side panel and the motherboard plate.

Ok, it took me forever because there were many, many interruptions, but I got my wiring cleaned up. As well as I could only using normal 12" zip ties. Couldn't find my mini ones. I have a pic of before and two after I was done.

Better?

EDIT: Sorry the pics are kinda blurry, my camera is really old, and it only has a lightening feature, not a flash. So I use that lighting feature and the shutter stays open for like 3 secs to get all the light, so I have to hold the camera really really still.

Thanks, and wow, I had trouble with the Firewire case cable. That's a full tower. And the Firewire slot in the motherboard was in the opposite corner. The cable barely reached just going straight across over everything. I connected all of the fan and LED power cables that connected straight to the PSU behind the back plate, in between the side panel and that. In fact, about half my cables are going through back there, the 5.25 inch drive bays have some holes that leads and some molex connectors can go through. That case is amazing, I love it. Sadly I won't be able to mod it for some time, if at all. I split the cost of my new computer with my parents, considering the fact that I'm 14 and am getting a real job soon. And that case included part of it. The day it came in my dad said I better not come at that case with his tin snips considering the cost.

Your case is pretty spiffy, but I'm really picky, I won't get a case if I can't get my drives to match the color, even if it does have a front door. When I open it I'd think it didn't look too nice. But that's what doors are for I guess.

Or use a tripod.

Do you have newer pics of the cleaned up wiring?

I just swapped cases for my 2.8GHz P4 system (freeing up my good case for a C2D build I'm doing in a few months). The case is just a boring old Antec mid-tower with no exterior mods but I did mod the chassis...I'll try and post a few pics later.

Took a picture of my case interior so you can get some ideas for wire management and I also took a picture of my chassis mod.

For wire management I just try to keep everything together and tucked out of the airflow paths...the big bundle of wires is actually a few inches above the heatsink. I anchored it to the chassis brace at the top. I use HAL9000's ribbon cable origami folding trick to help keep the ribbon cables under control.

For the chassis mod all I did was cut out a big rectangular opening where the original intake fan was to improve airflow a bit...the front of this Antec case has air vents in the face plate right in front of the rectangular opening. And I'm not using a floppy drive so the top hard drive (main system drive) gets some cool air from the floppy slot opening (molded in floppy slot, not an exposed face plate). I don't use intake fans, I rely on the exhaust fan to create a negative pressure in the case which in turns draws cool air in from the front of the case. This case has a 92mm exhaust fan as well as the 120mm fan in the FSP PSU.

You can also see the 50mm fan I screwed onto the passive heatsink of the Matrox G550...my attempt at ghetto video card cooling.

And you can also see the heatsink I thermal epoxied onto the P4P800SE southbridge to help keep it cool.

I suppose that the speaker is just there for kicks? I like it.

Oh yeah, hey all. First time here, how ya doin'? Figured I'd wander about and see if I could get any cool mod/wiring cleanup ideas.

So, idea. I have an Antec Nine Hundred case...I'm thinkin about getting a cold cathode in there, but I don't want it to light up like daytime in there, just the edges of the side window...like a fiber-optic kind of effect. All I can think of for now is to wall off the side that would shine on the components. Any other ideas?

And another question...seeing as my machine is called "Aviator" and all...any good ideas on case fans? Looking to replace the ones I have now with something to fit the bill. I saw an Aerocool Xtreme Turbine fan that looked up to the job, but it had terrible CFM and noise characteristics.

No, it's there for a reason. My motherboard doesn't have a built in piezo speaker so I have to use a real PC case speaker in order to hear any BIOS beeps.

This thread is for sharing a completed case mod project. Please post a new thread to ask for ideas.
