CPU Fan Speed

The fan is in a notebook PC. Am using AIDA32 and reports that my fan speed in RPM is 9926. I think its inaccurate? Do you?

Yes I agree that would be one heck of a fan to do almost 10k rpms. Usually the BIOS is the most accurate place to see temps and fan speeds. Some of those hardware monitoring programs that run in windows just do not report accurately..

The BIOS in my Compaq Laptop dont provide any temps even total memory, boot device. It only display the Compaq logo and Press F10 to enter setup.

Thats right, hit F10 to enter the BIOS and there may be a heading called hardware monitoring or something to that effect, that would be where in the BIOS you may see the correct fan speed. I'm not totally sure compaq lartops have that available in there though but you can look and see. It may not and that could be why your hardware monitoring program is reporting that speed..
