Virtual Device Driver for Cable Modem?
Alright, here's the deal. I built a comp a couple months ago, and now I am trying to switch my cable modem from my Gateway to the new build. It is an external cable modem from 3com, provided by att@home. When I installed all the software on my new comp I boot it up and it says it cant find the virtual device driver for 3com cable modem. What is this?
I am running 98 se on my new build and have ME on my gateway. Is there a way I can swap all the modem settings and drivers to the new one?? will that help? Eric |

I am not familiar with this particular product, but I would check and make sure your nic is installed correctly. Unless of course you are using a USB style modem. 3com is pretty good about support. I would check their web page for any information on this product. I would also call att tech support. Tell them your system crash and you are rebuilding and now you have brick walled at this error. They should help you configure your modem.
