Upgrading My Drives With SATA Interface

I am going to be replacing my 2 current hard drives and my CD/RW drive (that use IDE cables) with 2 new hard drives and a new DVD/RW drive that use the SATA interface. My motherboard only supports 2 SATA interface connections. The DVD/RW I am wanting to get is from Plextor and only available with the SATA interface. I could possibly get only 1 hard drive with a SATA interface and get the other hard drive with an IDE.

How would I go about getting all 3 SATA drives to work within my system? Do I need to buy one of the SATA/RAID controller cards to get this to work? Or would I need to find a SATA to IDE adapter?

Someone point in the right direction. Good links to products would help too.

Thanks in advance.

AK

You may be able to find something a little cheaper, but Promise makes great stuff.

I just took a look at this card and I like it. It has 4 connections for SATA interfaces and I believe if I went cheaper on the card I would lose 2 connections.

What about this Adaptec?

If anyone has anymore ideas I would appreciate your feedback.

Both PX-712 and PX-716 come as both PATA (A) and SATA (SA) versions.

Aaaah, yes I know, but they do not make a PATA in the color of black. I am going with all black drives in my case.

Of couse they do. The Retail 716A comes with a black bezel. You only have to exchange it yourself.
And the 712A comes as black and white versions.

Thanks for pointing that out RJ. I will take a closer look. When I looked through Plextor's website I did not see this. I appreciate you getting specific with me on this.
