hi all, can you give me an advice on fitting lights into a case, not how to fit but what to fit, i have used some uv lights in the pasrt and they are not to bad, but i am looking for a cool look......
this will be in a blue perspex case.

Get some round uv reactive IDE cables, a UV cable sleeving kit, 2 cold cathode black lights, and some uv pray paint. Then you can go crazy.

if its a clear case what would is paint? could i spray the outer cases of the cd drives and the a drive?

You can spray pretty much anything with the paint. It's made to be used on electronic circuit boards and the like. I just wouldn't try the hard drive or the bodies of the optical drives. I sprayed some on the back of my video card and it was fine. Just be careful you don't get it on the connector. I did and I had to get an eraser to scrub it off after it dried.

Basically go to any store that sells computer components or computers for that matter and pick up a few cold cathode tubes. They come in a variety of colors. As shadowbreaker513 mentioned, pick up some different cables and sleeving. These options, as well, come in a variety of colors. You can mix a couple of colors together or go all one color.

I am big fan of LED lightstick hidden in the case if you want it to be really bright. They seem to add a little solid bright light in there that the cold cathode lacks. A cold cathode, some UV paint and sleeves along with a lightstick and you're in business.

Agree on the light tube. I sneaked a pair of Antec Illuminate 'external' USB powered tubes into my Russian Radio mod. Right behind the tuner glass. They have a little control box that will make them pulsate if the box is near a speaker. I have one pulsating and one set steady. Produces a subtle but pleasing effect when music is playing. Agree this light is warmer than cold cathode. Even my wife likes it. Link to pix of project is in my signature.
