I'm building a computer with a 440bx motherboard and a 300 watt powersupply. The problem is that the computer shows no signs of life. I've connected the wires from the case to the correct headers on the motherboard. All other components of the computer I have verified as working. I've tried two different power supplies and two different motherboards. Why will this thing not start, I've taking very careful antistatic precautions. Any advice?

Hi,
Is the switch on the back of the powersupply on and set to the correct voltage? Is the power LED correctly connected to the motherboard? Have correctly installed the motherboard? It may be possible that the system is grounded. To figure out whether this is the case, have you tried taking the mobo out of the case and placing it on an antistatic surface hooking up just cpu/ram/video up to it and seeing it if it POSTs?. Hope this helps. |
