Hey, Asus is now building PC cases and they are sooo RAD! I just read about it in the latest issue of CPU: Computer Power User. Here are some pics of the Vento 3600 Case...

Someone already posted an image of that case awhile ago but was asked to remove the image from the post because it's a violation of the forum rules.
"Image / File Rules No illegal images are allowed. No images showing an illegal actvity are allowed. No porn. The above rule applies: If it is not work-safe, don't post it. This means that if you don't pay the site's bandwidth bills, you are not allowed to leech their graphics on our forums. If you found an amusing picture that you want to show the forums, UPLOAD IT TO YOUR OWN WEBSPACE BEFORE LINKING IT, OR SIMPLY LINK TO IT. Bandwidth leechers will be banned without question." Cricket

I wouldn't buy one as I'm a basic box kinda guy, but I do think it's pretty cool.

I'll stick with my cases both from Antec (Overture & Aria), that's just too futurist for me.

I reckon beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Looks like Mr. Snuffleupagus to me
. I imagine it is of the highest quality, coming from Asus.

I think these new cases are quite unappealing, IMO. They just look too 'futuristic' and 'fancy' for me. Although I am just a plain Joe kind of guy. Dont need anything too fancy. And could you or someone take that inline image off. Takes forever to load this thread.

I love the door on it, but I hate the vents on it. If there was one with a window, a smaller nose, and came in black, I'd get it.

The door's neat, but what happens when it malfunctions? Or, if you don't have room above the box? or you bump into it? I've downsided to a mid-tower Antec from a full tower Antec in the office as the full tower needed a shoehorn to fit into that location.

I'm not a fan of the flashy cases either but i must say it looks well designed, for a vacuum cleaner.

I agree with the others, it's a bit too flashy but I do like it. If only it came in black.

ya it does, wish there were pics of its insides, who knows it maybe a very innovative case that has a lot of nice features. And I do kinda like the look of it as well as those alienwares. Those alienware cases are designed very well, I wish they sold them seperatly. |

Nice trend!
I can see cases very soom made out of something other than stamped metal. Most cases now are shaped more or less like a fat briefcase. I'm waiting to see cases made of materials like carbon fiber, kevlar and other exotic materials that can be formed into an infinite number of shapes. Why can't a case be made to look like a fine piece of art that does not look out of place in a living room? Why not make a case out of 2 different clear lexan plastic spheres with fish swimming around the outer sphere? The new shapes could be infinite...Bucky balls, animals, boats, a glob of Silly Putty, Ferraris, toasters.....you name it. How about a flat computer built on the backside of a 23 inch monitor? The possibilities are endless.

Silverstone is making some very nice boxes shaped more like traditional stereo systems as well. Very classy looking...something other than the monolith in 2001. Everytime I see a tall black case I start listening for gregorian chants and looking for the monkeys using a club to beat each other up.
