no usb at all
ok i need help as always
i have a asus p4p800 mother board p4 30g 800 fsb 512 pc3200 80g hdd stata ati radeon 9800se antec 400w psu raidmax case ok i was playing on it today and i kind of bumb the monitor and then the mouse and keyboard stop working so i restarted it and now nothing i hooked it into every port there is and i try to hook the mouse to ps/2 and it works so they work i try to reset the cmos didn't work in the device manger it shows all of the usb ports and says there working i try to reinstall the driver but the driver says i don't need it i have sp2 for xp so anything that could help would be great cause the support on asus website is down for some reason thanks alot |

Did you try plugging something else into the USB ports? It potentially could be the keyboard or mouse, or the connection between the port and the keyboard or mouse.

yeah i try everything i have a joystick hooked up an it don't work and i wireless internet adater and it don't work so something it has to be something with the driver or motherboard right

ok i found a old usb pci card and put it in and got it to work so i think it the mother board but please tell me im wrong

I don't see how bumbing the monitor could make the motherboard bad...
You don't have monitor that has USB ports on it do you? I ask because I use a Flat Panel display at work that has the usb ports on the side which is connect to a USB port on the MOBO and that setup has been very tempormental. At times the mouse would just stop working or the computer would make that "new device recognised" noise repeatedly until you shut the darn thing down. The problem was fixed by simply not using the monitor USB.

no the monitor is not connect at to usb no usb's on the monitor
