I did that to my case. I notice you have those extra drive bays in the corner of that picture. What i did was cut out a circle (the fan circumferance) and drilled 4 holes around so i could put the fan into place using the drivebay covers.
(sorry i dont have any pics, it would be easier to explain). All you have to do is measure where you want the fan, and then start drilling. What tools do you have? I was able to do mine with a drill and jigsaw (although the jigsaw started to melt the plastic, just had to smooth it over with sandpaper. |

well, this is the basic idea of what i suggest you do, if i understand you right:
If you have any sort of drill you can do thiis (plus theyre pretty cheap, you just need a drill bit). If youre really interested in modding alot, you can get a dremel, which does alot of stuff (including drilling and cutting), and is essential to many modders toolboxes, but those can be on the expensive side. You can try scissors, or a razor blade for the big circle cut out, but that will take more time and energy. |

the drill bit shouldnt be ruined by the plastic (if thats what you were asking)
im not exactly sure what size you need to drill. i believe most are a standard 1/8th inch or something, you can just line it up with the fan, because it doesnt have to be a perfect fit to work. |

As long as you are careful, and dont put to much pressure on the plastic, it should be fine. If you have any scrap plastic, you can practice drilling. Just let the drill do the work, and try not to drill too close to the edge.
What i would do is tape the drive bay cover to a piece of wood or something, and drill through the plastic into the wood, that way it will be a bit stronger when applying pressure. |
