Need Opinions on this cpu heatsink.
I have a AXP2500+M on the way that I will be OCing. I've been looking at heat sinks. I found this one
http://www.svcompucycle.com/ht-101jr-17.html Now the fan on it is pathetic so I plan on replacing the fan with this http://www.svcompucycle.com/80torfan.html Or can someone suggest something a little less costly. |

that thing is pretty hefty for being aluminum. check out the Thermalright SI-97. my friend has one on his 2600+ Mobile that idles at 35C at 1.9V. he paid $50 shipped for an SI-97, Arctic Silver 5, and a 92mm fan from www.jab-tech.com.

Thanks Tin, I saw that thermalright at several places, couldn't decide if i needed to get it or not.

How does the SP-97 compare? it looks way heavier?

the SI-97 is actually a pretty light heatsink cuz it's made of aluminum. i'm assuming it's around the same weight as an XP-90 which weighs slightly less then my XP-120. i was suprised at how little it weighs. and it won't kill ur MoBo like some of the heavier copper ones do
