Question about water cooling

I've been looking into getting a water cooling kit but I just want to know what I can expect from water cooling versus liquid cooling. Right now with the system in my sig I'm sitting at mid 40's idle and high 40's to low 50's under load. Will I see much improvement with water cooling and will it be enough of an improvement to allow for even more of an OC?

I realize that these may be silly questions but after all of the research that I've done I'm still not convinced that I'll get a whole lot of improvement or what type of water cooling system would offer a significant differance.
