Micro ATX for car
I have been looking to replace my dual car radios with a MATX case and was wondering if you all could help me with finding a case I need one that the height and width are around 8". Also have anyone tried getting fiberglass to adhere to a case? I want to fiberglass it into my dash but don’t know how it would work. I have done a lot of fiber glassing and think it would be interesting. Thanks for any help.

the problem with getting a matx case 8 inches wide is that matx motherboards are 9.6" x 9.6". my antec aria case is 8" high, but it's almost a full 11" wide, and 13" long.
shuttle computers are pretty small. but you pay for the motherboard too... and you have to use the mobo that comes with it. shuttles or something similar are the only things that i can think of that will fit your requirements... i know nothing about fiberglass. |

also, if you're willing to think "outside the box" (the pc box, that is
), then a mac mini might be perfect for the job -- pretty cheap and tiny (6.5" x 6.5" x 2" w/d/h).

i just found an actual mobo made for a car... link
looks like it might work for this purpose.... it comes with a power supply designed to be used in a car. it's mini itx format, so very small (i think 5" x 5"). Last edited by timbit; 02-27-2005 at 11:37 AM. |
