Question I am new to all of this please help

I am literally just starting to modify my computer and have been looking on ebay for new cases but I have no idea at what type of case I need due to they all show the power in watts and my computer only shows volts and there are many other things I dont understand about changing the case I thought it would be easy so can someone please teach me the basics.

My computers power details:
110/230 V -
6.0/3.0A
60/50 Hz

If you need to know anything else about my computer to help me just tell me and thank you for any help you can give me.

p.s. I was loking at this case http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...748163981&rd=1 due to it said it doesn't have a power supply which I am guessing means I can fit my current one into it.

Embl,
You can get the full specs of your computer by going here: http://belarc.com/free_download.html

Download the software and it will give you an amazing amount of info about your computer. Don't worry, its not spyware. Belarc won't tell you the wattage of your PSU, but you can read that on the label or do a Google search with the brand and model number.

After you get the Belarc report back you can copy and paste the specs back to this string...just the relevant specs though...not all of them! (you will probably get about 2 pages worth of specs)

Embl,
Are you considering building your own computer? Your probably finding a computer built from just few years ago is fine for internet access and word processing but will not run much of the new software. You could build your own from scratch for well under a thousand dollars that is much faster and can do more than the one you have. What I am saying is it may make more sense to start from scratch than to take the components of your old computer out of its case and into a new case and then to find that it cant run much of the new software.

But then, I might be fun and a great learning experience to transfer the components and do a few upgrades such as more ram and perhaps a new video card, larger hard drive, new operating system (I found WinME very unstable on my laptop)...even a new CPU. For me Windows ME meant "Windows Madening Edition"

The people in here will help you if and when you have questions.

That depends on the software he plans to run...sure, a computer from a few years ago won't play the latest computer games, but it will run most normal programs fairly well. I have a PIII 600MHz that I use everyday and I have no problems running Office applications, CD burning software and even photo editing programs.

Your right Cricket. I was thinking along the lines of the new games and a few heavy duty applications.

Big Jay,
I like your second mod....I have always thought the clear acrylic cases with a blue light looked like something from outer space.
