dd 2x16x4x16

Hello, I just installed a new DVD writable drive into my computer and I am curious to what exactly the DD and numbers exactly mean in a
Atapi DD 2x16x4x16x. I have never see 4 sets of numbers identifing a drive and this is what it is. Could someone please explain to a dvd beginner.

2.0x Dual Layer Burning, 16x DVD+R writing, 4x DVD+Re Writing, 16x DVD-R writing and you should have 4x DVD-Re Writing.
