ATX case with Xeon power supply, leads?

Hi, just bought a new case from ATX with Xeon power supply, question, before I install the motherboard I'd like to know what two of the leads are coming from the front cover, they are labelled 'cpu' and 'hdd' but are just flat sensor like cables with two plastic covered flat metal tips...where do they go? What are they for?

Those sound like temperature probes. You use them to keep track of the CPU and hard drive temps. The hard drive probe should touch the hard drive somewhere. The CPU probe should not go between the CPU and the heatsink. You can attach it to the base of the heatsink close to where the CPU makes contact...just don't place it between the heatsink and the CPU.

Thanks for the advice, I wondered why the case has these probes as the motherboard keeps track of onboard temperatures, where does the information go? /show?

Exactly which case are you using and does it have a small LCD screen on the front somewhere?

Red face

ATX, but I've been rummaging around in the packaging and found an LED display unit for the front of the case with temperature display modes, (in degr.C)HDD,CPU and system, inside the case I found stuck behind the front panel another lead with 'system' on it, now where the heck does that go? then the mystery is solved....there's no other paper work at all with instructions with the case......I feel a bit stupid having to ask, its not my first build .....thanks !
