I am building a computer using an ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe motherboard. I have a 2.8GHz Intel Processor, with 1.0 GB of RAM. I am using Windows XP Home with SP 2.
Currently I have a 120GB Western Digital hard drive installed. I would like to add another hard drive - a Seagate SATA 120GB hard drive. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to add the Seagate SATA HD??? Do I simply connect the Seagate and load my copy of XP on it? Will the new drive show up in the BIOS? How can I switch from the Western Digital HD to the Seagate HD? Please help. Thank you. |

I am not sure what you mean...Do you want to run two seperate operating systems on the same computer?
If the answer is no than you simply hook up the SATA drive to the empty SATA port on the motherboard like the one you have is hooked up. Next time you turn your computer on you will see the drive as a new drive letter in "My Computer" I.E. If you currently have an A:,C:, and D: drive, it will be Drive E: No need to load XP on it. ![]() HTH |

After you installed the new drive it won't show up in "My Computer". You first have to partition in (rightclick on "My Computer", select Manage, Disk Management). Then the partitions will show up in "My Computer" and you can format them (or just format them in Disk Management). RJ
