I'd look hard at the new Maxtor Diamond Max 10 series. Here 's a 250GB unit for $165. They give the Raptors a good run for the money in performce. For the mouse, it'll be hard to beat the Logitech MX 1000 laser.

These days, I prefer Seagate drives. 5 year warranty, fast, quiet.

When doing anytype of programing speed isn't always the choice.. Quality, reputation is always the first things to take a look at...

You could always add another Western Digital hard drive in there.

Ok once I get my new HD. Can I just plug it in and go or do I have to replace my old one?
If I must replace, then does anyone know how, or has like a guide to transfer some of my data to the new one? I don't necessarily want everything. |

You don't have to replace the old one. If you have room in your case just slave it to your first one. Add on your os or format it and use it for storage.

So if I wanted to add another HD, there would just be another slot(IDE i think is what they're called) on my motherboard to put in another HD, depending on the motherboard? Mine's an ASUS A7N8X Deluxe.
If so, does it depend on which slot I use, because they all look the same. One is being used by CD Drive, one by Floppy Drive, and the other by my old WD 80gb HD. |

There are 2 IDE controllers - primary and secondary. Each is capable of supporting 2 drives in a master/slave configuration, your cables should have a second connector.
