OS-Windows Xp
When i try to defrag it gets like 80% done and then shows an error message about the hard drive. Its a HP computer about 3-4 years old, ive been having problems with this thing since i got it, the modem fried, i think the sound card is messed up, and now the hard drive is having problems, I want to build my next one but Im not sure if ive got the skillz, anyways ever since i tried to defrag it its been running really slow Last edited by Calvin Hobbes; 03-16-2005 at 09:52 AM. Start, run, cmd
chkdsk /r Answer yes to the prompt to run on next reboot, reboot it. Make sure you have your important files backed up, this MAY finish the drive off if it's shot. |
