smokin Dell LCD monitor power supply probs?

We've got a few dozen Dell LCD monitors here at work, model E151FP 2-3 years old. In the last month, I've had 5 of them suddenly died (all but one were just barely out of warranty). On a couple if them the power light will only blink amber, the rest won't even do that much. The monitors were all made in Feb 2002, but it seems strange for all these power supplies to fail at once.

Any suggestions, or has anyone heard of something similar?

Never heard of it, I would contact Dell anyway and see if there is something that they will do.. I only seems right since they are barley out of warranty. I would suggest in the future to stay away from Dell period..

I would also contact Dell. No reason though to avoid them in the future. As a general rule, their computers and peripherals are quite good.

Agreed with Mairving... contact Dell but keep using them if their customer support is good. All of them dropping out all of a sudden suggests one of two things:
1- A bad batch of monitors, in which case they may replace them
2- Some local environmental factor that caused it, such as surges or something. 5 out of how many??

Cool Dell's response so far...

Dell's response so far has been to deny any "known" issues with these monitors. I've replaced the out of warranty units with Acers that I got a better price on. That will be my course of action unless I get hold of a batch of replacement power supplies for the Dell monitors. (Anyone know of any?)

The good news is that the Dell PCs seem to be holding up well, even months after the warranty expiration.
