XP won't boot

I have to recover data from a drive. The m-board in the original system fried so I removed the drive and installed it into another XP computer, but it won't boot.

Would it be just as easy to install it as slave and copy data to another drive?

Thanks!

-Kev

Yes, that's easier than doing a repair reinstall of XP, which is what you would have to do to get the drive to boot.
